Our ActivFlo filtration system is a 4 stage proprietary design inside the tank that allows the most contact time between the filtration media and the water. This means the water that is being pushed through the system has longer contact through each stage of filtration.
Step 1: Filter the Water
In stage 1, sand, silt, clay, and other sediment are filtered through our 5 micron sediment pre-filter. After the sediment is filtered out, stage 2 pushes the water through a KDF media which removes harmful chemicals such as chlorine, as well as some heavy metals. Stage 3 was designed using a coconut shell carbon media which removes organic contaminants including chlorine, chloramine, VOCs, pesticides and herbicides to name a few. Last but not least, stage 4 includes our innovative design created to eliminate channeling while producing more contact time.
Step 2: Soften the Water
Once the water has been filtered through step one, our Innovative Salt Based Water Softener turns hard water into “soft” water through a process called ion exchange. Using the electronic metered valve mounted atop the resin tank, the system measures water by the gallon before running a cleaning cycle. Once the resin bed reaches its saturation point, the cleaning cycle begins. During the cycle, a series of back flushes purge the trapped minerals and flushes them out of the system. When water flows through the resin bed inside the tank, salts like sodium and potassium chloride are exchanged with hardness-causing minerals (primarily calcium and magnesium), resulting in “soft” water. The salts are also replenished in the resin bed during the cycle and the system is ready to go again.
